Prime Minister Davutoğlu visited Fatih

In the scope of election works, Prime Minister Davutoğlu visited Fatih and held several negotiations.

Starting the day by performing morning prayer in Eyüp Sultan Mosque, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu’s second destination was Fatih. During his visit to Fatih, Davutoğlu was accompanied by Mr. Hasip Şahin, Governor of Istanbul, Mr. Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Mustafa Demir, Mayor of Fatih Municipality, candidates for Member of Parliament and the district protocol.

Spending most of the day there, Prime Minister visited firstly Zeyrek Quarter where he lived during the first years when he came Istanbul and Hacı Süleyman Bey Primary School where he got educated for a while.

Welcomed with cheers by the students’ parents, Prime Minister was given a present of his photo that was taken during the school years.

Greeted with the students’ cheers, H.E. Prime Minister took care of them one by one and had a talk with them.

After his visit to the school, Prime Minister visited Mr. Emin Saraç, one of the last Ottoman scholars in his house. Prime Minister and accompanying officials met salesmen and people in Wednesday’s district bazaar. Talking with salesmen and people, Prime Minister went behind the sales booth and made sales with the craftsmen. Wearing a salesman’s apron, Prime Minister sold lettuce to Mr. Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, tomatoes to Mr. Selim Temurci, District Head of AK Party and carrots to Mr. Mustafa Demir, Mayor of Fatih Municipality.

After their visit to the bazaar and salesmen, Prime Minister and accompanying officials came to Fatih Mosque, visited Sultan Mehmet Han’s tomb and prayed.

Then, Prime Minister left Fatih in order to attend a mass opening ceremony and went to Bayrampaşa.
