“It is necessary to raise the awareness of children …”

Mustafa Demir, a dentist who graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, told students the importance of oral and dental health. Mustafa Demir distributed the dental kits to primary school students and said that they are making effort for the creation of oral and dental health consciousness. Stating that they are trying to improve this consciousness in every year, Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We will have distributed approximately 140,000 dental kits to children throughout the district if we include this year. Every year, we distribute tooth pastes and brushes to students due to Oral and Dental Health Week. Along with these oral health care kits we have given to first, second, third and fourth grade students, our purpose is the formation of oral, dental care and tooth brushing habits. Unfortunately, there is still no common awareness about tooth brushing in our country. We share how to brush teeth, how important oral and dental hygiene are, and the fact that it has an extremely critical importance for the overall body health with the children as much as possible. And consequently, they are our children and they need to acquire these habits.”
