They Experienced the Pride of Military Service

Men with disabilities have done symbolic military service for 1 day within the scope of the activity that the Fatih Municipality Disability Unit organized as a part of the “Disability Week” by cooperating with the Turkish Armed Forces. People with disabilities experienced the pride of being soldiers in the program that is applied throughout Istanbul.

400 citizens with disabilities, who participated in the “1-Day Military Service” program that the Fatih Municipality Disablility Unit organized as a part of the “Disability Week” by cooperating with the Turkish Armed Forces, were discharged by completing their military service. In the program that was held in the Hasdal Barracks, 23rd Motorized Infantry Division on 11 May 2018, citizens with disability received 1-day symbolic military training by wearing military uniforms. Having taken an oath after training, citizens with disabilities took their discharge certificates from their commanders at the end of the day, and experienced the pride of being a soldier. The families watching the program expressed their gratitude to the Turkish Armed Forces and to the Fatih Municipality.
