Located in Akşemsettin Neighborhood, Kocasinan Avenue, Parmakkapı Kadıasker (Kazasker) Mehmet Efendi Mosque was decommissioned during the development works conducted at the time of Vatan Avenue construction and later was rebuilt by charitable citizens. However, demolished in 2013 since it wasn't strong against earthquakes, the mosque is being rebuilt and commissioned by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality following the project design made by Fatih Municipality.

With project design made by Fatih Municipality and construction made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Parmakkapı Kazasker Mehmet Efendi Mosque is going to be commissioned at the time of Friday prayer this week.

It is estimated that it belongs to a masjid built by Kazasker (Kadıasker) Mehmet Efendi in 1453 and collapsed in an earthquake in 1766, which was then rebuilt by Mustafa Ağa during the same year and was completely destroyed as a result of a fire incident in 1918. Later this masjid was decommissioned during construction of Vatan Avenue and was rebuilt by charitable citizens after 1960. Due to the damage it incurred during the earthquake of 1999 and due its general static condition, it was issued a report in 2013 which stated that the building wasn't strong enough for earthquake, which led to its demolition by the municipality. Designed by Fatih Municipality with traces of traditional Ottoman architecture, the mosque was planned to have the size and location which could meet the needs of surrounding public buildings and the people. Following the board approval for the project, the Mosque was built by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Marmara Marble was used in the courtyard, mihrab and minbar of the mosque, which also has a wooden preaching desk in the minbar and a wooden muezzin's pulpit. A unique hand-carving implementation was also made for the interior of the Mosque. Offering a capacity whereby about 1,200 persons can pray concurrently, Parmakkapı Kazasker Mehmet Efendi Mosque is going to be commissioned this week at the time of Friday prayer.
