“Sports shouldn’t be just a temporary hobby but should be a lifestyle for living a healthy life”

Speaking at the ceremony, Fatih Municipality Mayor M. Ergün Turan said, “The number of students receiving training at our sports schools has doubled compared to the previous year. While the number of children who attended the 2018 Summer Sports School was about 1,800, it is over 3,000 now. I'm very happy about this. Sports shouldn’t be just a temporary hobby but should be a lifestyle for living a healthy life. Its foundations, however, should be laid around these ages, while young. As they say, a tree bends best while it’s still fresh. Sports activities which do not grow into a habit may offer short term benefits. However, sports is a major habit whose benefits are multiplied if pursued for a lifetime. Following his speech, Mayor Turan advised children to do lots of sports activities, sleep well, eat a healthy diet and read books in their free time.

Kids highly admired the show performed by the Action Team basketball team in the course of the program.
