The Grand Bazaar Inns Tour, jointly organised by Fatih Municipality and Turkish Airlines (THY), brought together social media influencers from abroad with historical buildings in the heart of Istanbul. During the guided tour, the participants walked through the narrow streets of the Grand Bazaar and visited the inns (hans), shops and historical buildings step by step. Tracing the heritage of trade and craftsmanship from the Ottoman Empire to the present day, the influencers discovered the cultural richness of Istanbul on site.

The Grand Bazaar Inns Tour, which is regularly organised by Fatih Municipality with the participation of both local and foreign visitors, has gained an international dimension this time with the contribution of Turkish Airlines. Influencers reaching millions of people on social media platforms were invited to the city to promote Istanbul's historical bazaar. The spirit of the Grand Bazaar from past to present was conveyed in depth with the stories told by the guides.

For more than 550 years, the Grand Bazaar has been the commercial centre of Istanbul and stands out not only as a place for shopping, but also as a representative of craftsmanship, culture and historical continuity. Within the scope of the tour, many structures from Bedesten (covered bazaar) to inns, from narrow streets to secret passages were visited. Participants chatted with the craftsmen in the shops where handcrafted products are sold and they observed the traditional production techniques closely.

During the tour, the guides provided detailed information about the historical transformation of the Grand Bazaar, its function in the Ottoman period and its current structure at each stop. The architectural features of the inns, their historical context and the roles they played in the past were among the main elements that attracted the attention of the participants. Besides, the restoration processes and current protection efforts of the Grand Bazaar were also included in the tour.

The influencers travelling through the narrow streets of the Grand Bazaar took a journey through time with the different landscapes they encountered at every corner. The participants, who brought the historical face of Istanbul to digital platforms with the images they shared during the tour, also played an active role in the promotion of the city culture. The influencers who told their followers from all over the world about the historical texture of Istanbul through social media contributed to the cultural heritage of Fatih from a new perspective.
