Mayor Turan Shares the Excitement of Science and Technology with the Young on the Final Day of TEKNOFEST 2025

Mr. M. Ergün Turan, the Mayor of Fatih Municipality, visited Atatürk Airport on the final day of TEKNOFEST 2025 to meet with the young people. Mr. Turan, the Mayor, stated that the Bilim Fatih (Science Fatih) team had been alongside the young people throughout the festival, saying, ‘Young people's interest in science and technology is the greatest guarantee of our country's future.’

TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival, brought millions together in Istanbul again in 2025. Throughout the five-day event at Atatürk Airport, students, teachers, technology enthusiasts and families from all over Türkiye came together. TEKNOFEST, one of the strongest showcases of the national technology initiative, once again became a stage where young people turned their dreams into reality this year.

On the final day of the festival, Mr. M. Ergün Turan, the Mayor of Fatih Municipality, took his place in the venue, examining the students' projects and participating in the work carried out by the Bilim Fatih team. Mr. Turan said in his statement, "TEKNOFEST, which our nation has embraced and shown great interest in, is not just a festival, but also a powerful expression of Türkiye's vision for the future. We were also there with our Bilim Fatih team for five days alongside our students. I would like to thank everyone who brought this organisation to life, especially Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar, who inspires young people."

Bilim Fatih with Students at TEKNOFEST

Bilim Fatih (Science Fatih), Fatih Municipality's science and technology education centre for young people, reached hundreds of students through workshops held during the festival. Participants developed their own projects using mBot applications in the robotics coding workshop and competed fiercely in team spirit in the organised competitions.

The mBot competitions, in particular, provided exciting moments where young people demonstrated their creativity and problem-solving skills. In addition, the algorithm activities allowed students to develop their analytical thinking skills. Thus, the festival became not just a viewing area, but a platform where young people directly participated, learned, and created.

The expert team at Bilim Fatih equipped students with the knowledge and skills to prepare them for future technologies while answering their questions across various disciplines. The curiosity and excitement in the children's eyes was one of the details that most caught the attention of families at the festival.

Bilim Fatih stand became one of the most popular spots for visitors throughout TEKNOFEST. Students both learned and had fun at events that attracted participants of all ages, while families witnessed their children's connection with technology. Participants emphasised the importance of the new generation growing up immersed in technology, and Bilim Fatih's educational activities added unique value to the spirit of the festival.
