Following the visit, Mr. Turan, the Mayor made a statement to the public, saying that 15 July was a great story of resistance written by the collective will of a nation. Mr. Turan said, ‘If our call to prayer continues to ring out and our flag continues to fly freely at the highest point, we owe it to our beloved martyrs who sacrificed their lives that night.’
