Organised in Cooperation with Fatih Municipality and Turkish Canoe Federation, Level 1 Coaching Courses Underway

Level 1 Canoe Coaching Course, which is organised in cooperation with Fatih Municipality and Turkish Canoe Federation, creates new coaches who will shape the canoeing sport with theoretical and practical trainings.

Organised by Youth and Sports Unit of Fatih Municipality, Level 1 Canoe Coaching Course is underway. The course which started with a swimming test at Yedikule Swimming Pool and Sports Centre was attended by 24 coach candidates from different regions of Türkiye.

The training process continues with theoretical and practical lessons at Fatih Municipality Canoe and Rowing Sports Centre. During the five-day intensive programme, candidates learn the technical details of canoeing and improve their knowledge with field practice. In the trainings, information is given by expert trainers on subjects such as balance on water, rowing techniques, athlete psychology and training planning.

Candidates who successfully complete the course will have a Level 1 Coaching Certificate approved by the Turkish Canoe Federation. This certificate allows candidates to work as a professional canoe coach and offers authorisations such as training athletes and forming teams.

Fatih Municipality intends to increase the interest in sports and train qualified coaches with such training programmes for canoeing and rowing sports while continuing to work with the aim of bringing young people together with sports. This cooperation with the Turkish Canoe Federation is an important step towards the future of the sport.

The effort of the candidates during the course and their active participation in the trainings look promising for both athletes and coach candidates. This programme, which continues at Fatih Municipality Canoe and Rowing Sports Centre, encourages not only coach candidates but also young people who want to do sports in this field.

While the interest in canoe and rowing sports is gradually increasing thanks to such courses, the new coaches trained are expected to achieve significant success across Türkiye. Fatih Municipality's contributions to sports pave the way for future generations to grow up as more active, conscious and healthy individuals.
